Full Job Description

We understand that people want casual work for a variety of reasons, whether that's to supplement a part-time job, whilst studying elsewhere, or as part of juggling child-care. Whatever the reason, we're confident we can find an opportunity that suits you! As a Casual Support Worker, you will be working with the people we support in our Learning Disability, Mental Health and/or Supported Living services to develop their independence and support them live the way that they choose. As a member of our support team, you will be assisting people we support with their day-to-day activities such as personal care, cooking, housework, going to the shops or attending any activities they may be interested in. You will work with these individuals to encourage independence, choice and involvement in their own lives, and to promote their active participation in their chosen community. We are looking for Casual Support Workers to work in a home in East Swindon in the Park North Area, there are 8 individuals living here and some of them have complex needs. Each day presents a unique and fulfilling opportunity to assist individuals in their daily lives, engaging them in a diverse range of activities including shopping, local excursions, cinema outings, and much more.

  • Have at least 6 months' experience as a Support Worker/ Care Assistant or the equivalent in a similar setting; or currently studying health sciences subjects at undergraduate/post graduate level
  • Able to commit to regular work +20hr per week
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, the people we support and a range of stakeholders
  • Be kind and caring, have a proactive attitude and willingness to be flexible and adaptable
  • Be able to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Be willing to learn and committed to delivering a high-quality service to the people we support
  • Holding a full valid manual British driving licence is desirable but not essential
