Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Solicitor/Legal Executive with 0- 1 years PQE to join our commercial casualty team. We would also be happy to hear from experienced paralegals.

Working in a team dedicated to some of our biggest insurer clients, you will be responsible, under appropriate supervision, for the day to day management of your own varied caseload.

You will also assist Partners and other team members in the defence of a wide range of claims, on behalf of various corporate bodies and their insurers. Tasks will include running and assisting with a large range of litigated casualty claims, preparing witness statements, undertaking legal and factual research, drafting instructions to Counsel and experts, preparing reports to clients, preparing for and attending court hearings, attending client meetings and responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties.

    Eligibility to work in the UK

    Eligibility to work in the UK will be verified in the final stages of the selection process. All candidates must either already have a right to work in the UK before commencing employment, or meet the Home office criteria for Visa sponsorship. Candidates who require sponsorship should evaluate the Home Office eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa before applying.

    You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. We also require you to have:
  • A proven track record of managing EL/PL personal injury claims, with a demonstrable understanding of the law relating to negligence and health and safety;

  • In depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules;

  • Experience in drafting documents including witness statements, instructions and reports;

  • Experiencing managing cases in a cost efficient and commercial manner

  • Ability to achieve set financial and chargeable targets

  • Ability to analyse information;

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail;

  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills;

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
