Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Catalyst Operations Assistant to work in our flagship building as part of a small, friendly facilities team. You will enable the provision of a high-quality support and spaces and seek the uphold values to support, empower and find good outcomes for all members of the Edge Hill Community. You will provide a vital role in offering such support out of our core business hours and thus delivering a fantastic student experience., Manging access and ensure security is maintained by upholding policies and procedures and working in partnership with Campus Support to ensure the Catalyst provides a safe environment for staff and students.
Provide a professional first impression to all customers of the Catalyst building and act as first point of contact for all users of the building and service.
To monitor and address behaviour by undertaking regular patrols of Catalyst, enforcing relevant policies and using judgement to resolve or escalate issues and ensuring that only Edge Hill students and staff access Catalyst during non-helpdesk hours. Identifying and removing ineligible users in a sensitive manner.
This is a Part Time, Term Time role working either:

10 Hours - Thursday and Friday 6pm - 9pm and Saturday 5pm - 9pm.

Or

13 Hours - Monday - Wednesday 6pm - 9pm and Sunday 5pm - 9pm.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach in response to situations
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with sensitive situations, handle conflict constructively and maintain professionalism
Able to demonstrate excellent judgement under pressure in dealing with students, staff and members of the community

If appointed to this part time (10 hours per week) position at the bottom of the salary band (Grade 3 - point 11) your anticipated gross pay per month would be £469.95. Edge Hill University pay term staff monthly in arrears, in twelve equal instalments.
This example monthly gross pay figure is based on:
o Full Time Full Year equivalent salary of £23581 ÷ 52 weeks ÷ 36.25 hours (full time equivalent contract hours) = £12.5098 per hour.
o £12.5098 per hour x 10 hours per week 45.08 weeks (i.e., the 40 term time working weeks you work + 5.08 additional pay weeks in lieu of your annual leave and statutory leave) = £5639.42 annual actual gross salary before tax, national insurance, and any other deductions.
o £5639.42 ÷ 12 months = £469.95 equal gross pay monthly instalments.
This scenario is based on a start date of 1st September and working a full year. This example salary amount is subject to change depending on candidate start-date within the year, and where in the salary band the candidate is hired.
