Full Job Description

  • Procuring goods and services that meet requirements, utilising benchmarking and best practice tools to ensure value for money and comprehensive evaluation.
  • Processing purchase requisitions, RFQs and raising and expediting purchase orders, following up on delivery dates and keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business values and requirements.
  • Procurement administration tasks, including accurate data entry into relevant systems, handling invoice queries and approving invoices.
  • Conducting research on suppliers and markets.
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to make business savings and improve terms of business with suppliers.
  • Responding to general enquiries in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working hours
  • Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5.00pm (with flexibility within office hours of 7.00am-7.00pm Monday-Friday), Whilst not mandatory, your completion of the applicant ethnic monitoring form will help us monitor and encourage equality and diversity.     Commercial awareness, with experience in purchasing and negotiation.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • CIPS level 4 desirable or a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Experience in reviewing, negotiating and implementing contracts and terms.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box and make informed decisions.
  • Willing to learn new skills and support the wider team as required.
  • Ability to manage projects alongside day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Strong organisation skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload to deadlines.
  • Good communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Can adapt and embrace change in a growing business.

    We are now looking for category buyer (maternity cover) to join the Gripple supply chain team on a temporary basis. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential for extension.
