Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Category Buying Manager on Pet and Bulk Buy on a 10 month FTC.
This role will require someone with a strong level of commercial expertise and robust leadership to ignite innovation and drive success.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the category strategy review process and change programmes with clear plans to drive growth and innovation
You will be responsible for:
Motivating the teams to deliver financial targets, accurate sales and quantum profit budgets for the area
Leading all aspects of the selling and buying plan ensuring there is supplier strategy to meet the total category plan
Leading or supporting complex negotiations by your buying team, meeting regularly with our supply base
Challenging your team to develop customer focused ranges & product innovation across formats, channels & affluence levels, with the right sourcing plan
Reviewing & responding to weekly trading results and competitor actions, ensuring price is commercial.
Working on the category trade and events plan with market leading, customer insight driven promotions and events
Developing and leading a successful team, giving them opportunities to be at their best
Forecasting and leading optimally, always being cost conscious
Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all training so that we have zero GSCOP breaches.
Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and handling a culture of compliance within the team

Annual bonus scheme of up to 45% of base salary
