The Opportunity: Are you a driven and strategic thinker with a passion for category management? Do you have the skills to influence key stakeholders and lead category initiatives? If so, Samworth Brothers invites you to apply for the position of Category Development Manager. As a Category Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in our Category Development and Commercial teams. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and deliver the Category Strategy with designated customers, influencing their behaviors and actions to benefit both the shoppers' category and Samworth Brothers. - Annual Customer Category Plan: Develop and execute plans to align with our category vision, including merchandising and promotional strategies. - Customer-Specific Initiatives: Manage initiatives to increase sales and profitability for both Samworth Brothers and our customers. - Range & Seasonal Reviews: Lead processes to deliver category strategies using Samworth brand solutions. -
Merchandising & POP Tactics: Manage store trials and roll-out plans as needed. - Promotions Management: Lead promotion tactics and evaluate their effectiveness. - Performance Tracking: Provide regular category performance updates and maintain analytical tools. - Budget Management: Manage allocated budgets and ensure cost efficiency.

Category Management Experience: Significant experience within an FMCG environment. - Knowledge & Skills: Comprehensive understanding of category management processes, retail knowledge, and experience with software systems such as Outlook, Microsoft Office, Asda Retail link, Dunnhumby, I2C, Coop Hive, and JDA. - Commercial Acumen: Strong industry understanding, analytical skills, and ability to make data-driven decisions. - Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent presentation skills, ability to influence, and establish credibility with senior-level contacts. - Project Management: Ability to plan and implement short-term projects effectively.
