Full Job Description

Our new Category Development Manager role will be at the heart of transforming Boots Oral Health strategy, a unique opportunity to shape and deliver a truly cross-functional new customer proposition that spans healthcare, general merchandise and beauty. This role not only has the opportunity to deliver significant incremental growth to the business in a £9bn market, but also work on making a difference to people's health and wellbeing. Based in Nottingham, and reporting to the Head of Healthcare Development with a dotted line into General Merchandise, this role will also be matrix working across the business units to optimise the customer journeys for oral health in a way only Boots can., Working as part of the Healthcare Development team, an innovative and customer-focused team that works to create a pipeline of innovative future growth initiatives, the post holder will bring their commercial experience, strategic thinking and passion for customer experience to deliver growth in Oral Health. This strategic initiative is also feeds into the broader Retail Transformation workstreams alongside opportunities for Pharmacy Growth, so will be elevated across multiple programmes creating a broader opportunity for strategy exposure and optimise delivery. Working closely with the category teams and insight teams, integrating with our existing oral care suppliers and building relationships with new potential partners, the role will gain a deep understanding of the opportunities to deliver the 3 year strategy, with a particular focus on setting the foundations for sustainable growth for the future including new revenue streams. A driving force for new ideas, with an ability to excite and engage with at pace, the role will be responsible for:

  • Crafting robust business cases that drive profitable growth, exploring new and adjacent markets within oral health
  • Delivering highly commercial strategic launch plans alongside category experts & supplier partners
  • Providing strong market insights to help us stay ahead of the market
  • Investigating service-led commercial opportunities to drive broader customer propositions
  • Defining the growth pillars of the strategic plan to improve oral health in the UK and address the widening oral health gap

    Commercial experience, within retail or pharmacy
  • Proven experience of delivering new growth-driving initiatives
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Strategic thinker who can manage broad range of stakeholders
  • IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
  • Experience of commercial healthcare or oral care
