Full Job Description

We are looking for a Category Lead to own, develop and implement the Procurement strategy for the Corporate services categories of spend; reporting into the Head of Procurement - Indirects.

Categories in scope may change from time to time but currently include Travel, Fleet, Logistics and Office services (printing, furniture, stationery).

You will ensure that the supply chain solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to Mitie and its customers' requirements, whilst also driving relevant and impactful innovations. This will include the full Sourcing life-cycle from influencing requirements up to Supplier relationship Management.

You will aim to become a trusted commercial partner working closely and collaboratively with your key stakeholders. You will manage and mentor one direct report whilst adding a particular focus on how we enable our people to deliver "exceptional value, every day".

You will lead all strategic corporate services procurement activities, developing category strategies aligned with business requirements in partnership with key stakeholders. Managing complex, high-value sourcing events and negotiations will be crucial, as will identifying new sources of supply and negotiating to achieve the best market value. You will identify cost reduction opportunities within the business and implement contractual agreements. You will also be accountable for developing and delivering annual targets and goals across cost, quality, reliability, and delivery.

You will manage and support a wide range of internal stakeholders, from operations through to board level, working as part of cross-functional teams. Engaging with all our divisions, you will gather, assess, and influence business requirements, appropriately challenging stakeholders while maintaining relationships.

You will implement and manage our Supplier Management Program, covering all strategic and preferred suppliers to improve service levels and identify areas for improvement. Regularly liaising with suppliers to resolve issues, you will suggest and develop improvement plans where required. Additionally, you will drive innovation and sustainability in partnership with our supply chain partners to enhance Mitie's customer offering.

Your key relationship will involve Group Procurement & Supply Chain Director and Senior Leadership Team, Procurement Centre of Excellence, Internal Audit, Legal & Finance Teams, Mitie Corporate Divisions Leadership Team and Business Division MDs, FDs, and Operations Teams.
About You

We seek a subject matter expert with at least 5 years of procurement experience within the corporate services categories (Travel, Logistics, Print, Fleet, Office Services). You should possess excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation, and analytical skills, along with customer-facing and time management skills. Dedication, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment are essential.

A clear track record of building stakeholder relationships to reach shared goals, a strong focus on strategy implementation and risk mitigation, and capability in conflict management and resolution are critical.

Other desirable but not essential attributes include experience managing a small team, CIPS qualification, and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
