Shape ICT category strategy with global impact
Youll head up the team procuring any technical and ICT related products or services needed across FCDO Services. It could be hardware, software, specialist equipment anything thats required to deliver the very best results for our customers. Youll support and guide the team so they can manage ICT procurement and any supplier relationships more effectively, while you collaborate closely with the wider business to shape category strategy that has impact across continents.
That means understanding FCDO Services future ICT requirements and keeping an eye on the bigger picture. Youll be on the pulse of whats happening across different teams, able to manage risk and spot opportunities in the supply chain. The ultimate aim? To make sure were getting the right ICT services and products, at the right time, at the right price.

It goes without saying that youll be a subject matter expert across a range of technologies, including hardware infrastructure, operating systems, and networks. Calling upon your extensive ICT procurement experience, youll be able to adapt to change and make sure everything is still delivered to the highest standards. Plus, all this will be complemented by an MCIPS professional qualification, or equivalent experience and knowledge.

Youll have a knack for building positive relationships with stakeholders and suppliers alike, helping you to quickly establish yourself as a trusted expert. Not only that, youll confidently navigate complex projects and manage expectations around FCDO Services. Extensive experience of ICT procurement, contract management, managing supplier
relationships, developing strategic solutions, risk management and working knowledge of
Strategic Programs
Knowledge of UK procurement regulations and corporate governance
Strong communicating, influencing and senior management/stakeholder engagement
skills
Demonstrative leadership skills and ability to find solutions to complex problems in a
procurement environment.
Desirable:
Understanding of UK and Central Government procurement systems, standards, and
regulations
Working experience of public sector procurement processes, including drafting, SQ and
ITT documentation
Experience gained in a commercial trading environment., MCIPS qualification or equivalent experience

FCDO Services are regulated by the Civil Service Commission.
£55,970- £64,771 plus allowance of up to £7K depending on qualifications and experience

Benefits Include:
Alpha. This is a defined benefit occupational pension scheme. As your employer we also make a substantial contribution.
Partnership pension account. This is a stakeholder pension with a contribution from us. How much we pay is based on your age. We pay this regardless of whether you choose to contribute anything. You do not have to contribute but, if you do, we will also match your contributions up to 3% of your pensionable earnings. The contributions are in addition to the age-related employer contribution mentioned above.
