Full Job Description

To develop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories, across a number of NHS Trusts, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets. To support the Assistant Category Director and team in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large number of Member Trusts, by analysing current spend information to develop procurement strategies. To ensure contract compliance across the LPP, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets. Whilst meeting customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money, through compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively managing the market place through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management. Working with the Assistant Category Director, Categories Director and team
in developing networks by providing input into appropriate LPP projects. Liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of agreed standardised and compliant products and services. Leading on the set up and/ or working with established Product Evaluation Groups to carry out complex surveys, evaluate products and fast track product/ service rationalisation decisions. Ensures processes are in place so that effective, collaborative equipment purchases, trials, and long-term plans to allow for standardisation using evidence base and innovative practice across the health economy of the region. To lead/ facilitate strategic LPP initiatives such as sustainable procurement, local supplier development and collaborative opportunities. To ensure that LPP is involved in local strategic partnership arrangements and regional economic forums in order to play a part in developing a sustainable and resilient health economy. To ensure, with stakeholders and collaborative bodies, the
development of further incentives to support carbon reduction in the NHS to ensure that local procurement, whole lifecycle costs and the environmental impact of financial decisions is considered by all LPP and its stakeholders in the contract evaluation process.
