Category Manager - Home & Garden (1 year Contract ) About the team and the role: The role is to help define the Home Improvement category strategy and implement through working with sellers, buyers, industry experts, and brands to ensure that eBay has the inventory and end-to-end experience to grow the business. As a Category Manager, you will be accountable for the success of your category and expected to independently lead and manage multiple subcategories of the business. What you will accomplish:

  • Drive GMV, conversion rate, average selling price/ average order value, and Buyer & Seller satisfaction.
  • Build a business plan, optimizing pricing, promotions, inventory, while improving product discoverability through merchandising, marketing and advertising.
  • Recruit necessary sellers to offer more choice and establish trust. Oversee performance and business planning for top sellers, buyers, and third-party partners, including new seller launch plans.
  • Lead vertical, horizontal, and strategy execution as it relates to the categories and our customers by working cross-functionally with product, marketing, deals, pricing, and seller teams within eBay.
  • Drive eBay onsite marketing and key event planning with cross functional teams, with a focus on important industry and retail moments. Clearly communicate objectives and requests in creative briefs.
  • Deliver strategies, reporting, and results weekly to the Category Lead, while delivering regular executive read-outs and presentation updates.
