Catering Assistant

As Catering Assistant for Independents by Sodexo at Hurstpierpoint College - Hassocks, you will be contributing towards the smooth running of a fast-paced food and beverage operation. You will be responsible for showcasing what the kitchen supplies, presenting it in the most eye-catching way possible, ensuring we are offering the best service possible. As well as this, you work no unsociable hours and get public holidays off… including Christmas!

What you do:

Serve delicious meals for our school team and pupils.
Provide a catering service to our pupils, teachers and support staff
Ensure the specified dining operation standard, ensuring the highest levels of hygiene and HACCP compliance .
Maximise 'diner' interaction and engagement. Capturing feedback and promoting the catering department objectives and food ethos.
Support the 'hospitality' operation in the delivery of adhoc catering request to include major sporting and showcase events.
Maintain stocks and general cleanliness of catering areas as requested.

Have a great sense of teamwork.
Show that you can adopt a dedicated and orderly approach.
Show that you can prioritise your work, handle pressure, and communicate well at all levels.
Show impeccable punctuality and dependability.
Experience in a similar environment (helpful but not a deal breaker).
