Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team in Haverhill, United Kingdom. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

  • Assist in the preparation of food and snacks, adhering to food safety standards and nutritional guidelines
  • Serve meals and refreshments to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces
  • Collaborate with the catering team to ensure smooth operations during meal services
  • Support the efficient running of the catering service by restocking supplies and organising storage areas
  • Operate catering equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of catering events or special functions as required
  • Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and organisational policies

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules

  • Basic numeracy skills for portioning and stock management
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Willingness to complete food safety training (provided by the organisation)
  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organised during busy periods
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new skills
  • Commitment to following food safety and hygiene regulations
