Catering Assistant | The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a Catering assistant to work on our Sutton site primarily. Work will involve overseeing staff and HACCP procedures in all catering areas including on our ward areas, the restaurant & Slade cafe, functions ensuring we are maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout all areas of the work place. This position may include working weekends and a variety of shifts both morning and evening, working 5 days out of 7, as required. It is essential to have worked in a catering environment previously , have good customer care, organisational skills and experience of working as part of a team. It would also be beneficial if you have worked in a Hospital/Care setting previoulsy and/or in a similar role. You will need to be a reliable, flexible member of staff showing initiative and commitment to providing a safe, hygienic environment in all areas. Please note that previous applicants need not apply. To undertake cleaning duties which are appropriate with the post and to assist the kitchen team with the patient, and staff meal service.,

• The preparation of vegetables, sandwiches, cold desserts and salad items for both Restaurant and Patient Services as directed by the Chef in charge of the shift.
• Picking and Packing of cook chill food for patients.
• Ensure that all food storage, preparation and service of all foods meet the temperature guidelines stipulated in the Food Safety (Temperature Control) Act 1995 and to record all food temperatures.
• Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen areas to maintain a high standard of hygiene as and when appropriate within the departmental cleaning schedules
