Full Job Description
The catering clerk is responsible for processing all patient menu cards, for producing various reports for the kitchen supervisors, for recording and documenting information relating to patient catering and for keeping all information held on the catering IT system accurate and up-to-date.
The catering clerk is required to work closely with the kitchen supervisors and to liaise on a daily basis with wards. The catering clerk is also required to assist and cover in respect to raising purchase orders and receipting orders., ADMINISTRATIVE PATIENT MENU PROCESSING: To process all patient menu cards on a daily basis as follows:
· Issue required amounts of menu cards to all wards on a daily basis.
· Receive completed menu cards and to contact any wards that have not returned menu cards.
· Check that sufficient menu cards have been received from each ward and if not contact the ward concerned and rectify.
· Sort menu cards for processing and extract special diet cards to process separately.
· Make out bulk cards as required.
· Enter menu cards onto system one meal at a time
· Print summary sheets at end of processing and issue to kitchen with cards.
· Retain copy of summary and complete meal served sheet
· Check dietary supplement sheets against order?
· Maintain adequate stocks of all menus
· To liaise directly with wards on a day to day basis.
To provide the following reports:
· Recipes for patients and staff
· Allergen Information
· Costing Information
· Production plans
· Meal served data
· Red tray data
