Full Job Description

This role will show a location of Digital Media Centre in Barnsley (as that is where our central team are based) but this role will be in the Leeds, with a home school of Penny Field Academy or Green Meadows Academy. The postholder will be required to work from local sites, so a driving license and access to a car is essential (travelling expenses would be paid).

    We offer day time working (no weekends or evenings) and can offer flexibility with working hours to work around any existing commitments i.e. child collection times. We can also offer work to fit around any school holidays for childcare (summer, half terms, Easter and Christmas).

    The post holder will need a varied background in catering, working in education settings would be advantageous. They will be responsible for ensuring a high level of quality food service provision.

    Applicants will need to have the skills to cook foods for the daily menus and carry out all duties as expected in a catering department; to ensure high level of customer service during service, to ensure that high quality cleaning regimes are adhered to, and stock is always kept safe, stored appropriately, and rotated securely. The Catering Lead will act as a role model to members of the Catering team always offering support to other staff.

    We are looking for applicants with experience in a similar role, who are flexible to meet the needs of our learners. You will need to have Food Safety Level 2 and be able to use a computer, or be willing to undertake the training required.

    Grade B1, SCP 4-6 , FTE: £24,404 to £25,183, Hourly Rate £12.68 to £13.09. Salary figures quoted are inclusive of the proposed £1,290 FTE 24/25, NJC pay award, which may change pending national agreement
