Full Job Description

We are seeking a Account Director to join our Compass Group UK&I Business. We are looking for candidates based in and around the North of England, however the role will require National travel. As Account Director, you are the key partner to the client for strategy, program development, financial management, opening new business, and defining a culture of excellence in the service and experience of the operation. You will manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner, ensuring financial targets, compliance and company procedures are adhered to. Shaping the contract's overall business strategy, developing strategic plans, and assessing contract performance along with conducting research and data analysis to inform business decisions. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring client contracts are adhered to within their terms.
  • Cultivating robust, extensive client relationships that consistently surpass expectations.
  • Guaranteeing contract performance aligns with budget and meets business plan and financial goals.
  • Tracking and evaluating contractual and internal KPIs and SLAs and fostering ongoing improvements.
  • Discovering opportunities for growth and efficiency through innovative approaches.
  • Developing and overseeing a labour strategy that complies with contract requirements.
  • Assisting the sales team in creating financially viable bids and proposals, concluding in contract finalisation.
  • To role model timely feedback and challenging underperformance.
  • Ensure that the management team continually develop and proactively manage their teams to maintain performance levels and engagement.
  • Can recruit, manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Develop the customer strategy and work with relevant parties to ensure the tools are in place to support its delivery.
  • Develop plans to materialise strategy and analyse business proposals
  • Align processes, resources-planning and department goals with overall strategy
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends and market changes
  • Leading in contract retention and strategising for expansion
  • Driving the strategic advancement of current accounts to cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Directing new business mobilisations in collaboration with Sales, Mobilisation, Technology, and Innovation teams to deliver solutions that surpass client and customer expectations, manage finances, and establish enduring partnerships from the outset.
  • Managing and leading HSE matters related to the contract and teams, ensuring compliance with legal standards.

    Strong influencing, coaching and people development skills
  • Experience of leading and managing large and complex teams over multiple geographical locations to deliver results
  • Is a self-starter.
  • Able to quickly build partnership relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to drive change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of working with a client group based in multiple locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, pragmatic and commercial approach
