Full Job Description

Sodexo has over 40 years of experience supporting the defence forces of the UK, the US and France. We support individuals, the community and the environment on base, working with military leaders to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of personnel across all military services., Based at Merville Barracks in Colchester we are recruiting for a Catering Support Manager to support our teams in the operational running of all catering related matters in our junior ranks, officers' and sergeants' mess as well as our military correctional training centre, personnel recovery centre and sports ground clubhouse.

This is a busy and varied role where you will be working under the Food Services Manager in the catering department. You will develop positive working relationships with military chefs, agency chefs and stakeholders and work to produce innovative dishes and menus and provide interim cover of the head chef position when required.

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Health and Safety (including risk assessments and allergen checks)

  • Client relationship management

  • Stock Control

  • Audits

    With proven experience as a chef or in catering or hospitality management and a Level 2 NVQ qualification in catering and Level 3 in Food Safety, you will put people and customer service at the heart of everything you do.

    You will be keen, enthusiastic, willing to learn and have good organisation, communication and customer service skills as well as high attention to detail.
