Full Job Description

This role is based in the Training Team at the National CBRN Centre near Coventry which supports, strengthens and assures the multi-agency general and specialist response to CBRN Terrorism. This is a critical function and we are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified Training & CPD individual.

The role

Supervising a small multi-agency team of subject matter experts in the effective design, development and delivery of national CBRN training & CPD programmes and products to police and multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities

Provide day to day supervision of the multi-agency training delivery team within the National CBRN Centre, ensuring that all training and CPD products are current, accurate, version controlled and audited regularly
Oversee the design, development and delivery of national training & CPD programmes and products
Prepare and deliver CBRN training & CPD sessions to multi-agency delegates
Evaluate training and exercising activities and operational deployments, identifying where lessons can be learned
Consider staff and delegate development needs and implement appropriate improvement plans where necessary
Proactively manage demand, duties and performance of the team
Maintain and develop a high level of subject knowledge of CBRN training, CPD, exercising and operational deployments
Work in partnership with other departments, agencies and stakeholders from the wider CBRN community
Effectively maintain and develop work streams current within the National CBRN Centre
Support the Centre in providing logistical support and guidance to the UK police service and agency partners
Be aware of Policy on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection and to comply with the legislation and the standards of 'ethics and good practice'

Minimum Level 3 training qualification
Current experience in the supervision and management of personnel
Experience of design, development, delivery or management of emergency service training programmes
Sound, current, operational experience in response to multi-agency, major incidents and public events
Excellent communicator to all audiences
Be personable, approachable and people focussed
Sound decision maker with a flexible approach, taking responsibility for making things happen and achieving results through effective management of time, people, partnerships and performance
Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure without close supervision or direction
Experience of completing Equality Impact Assessments and managing stakeholder engagement/consultation with representative groups
Hold a UK driving licence, being qualified to drive a police vehicle
Desirable

A1 Assessor, or be prepared to work towards this qualification
Tactical Advisor (CBRN, PO or Firearms) and prepared to work towards CBRN Operational Commander
Knowledge of National Police capabilities, structures and planning processes
Experienced in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power-point, Teams, Sharepoint & Outlook)
Experience of having managed multiple work streams or projects
Up-to-date knowledge and/or experience across CT and Operations, Disability Confident
