ResponsibilitiesAs a CBT therapist you will be part of an Eating Disorders Service. You will work with clients who have a range of eating disorders related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.Main Dutieso Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.o Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions.o Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referrer.o Undertake comprehensive ED assessments.o Care co-ordination and risk assessment.o Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.o Use highly developed communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties.o Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.o Attend multi-disciplinary meetings.o To continue to contribute to the developments of best practice within the service.For further information contact:Helen Parkin, Operational Manager Helen.Parkin@mpft.nhs.uk
- Eating Disorder (Adult) CBT Therapist This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our team and contribute to shaping this aspirational service.Providing specialist CBT work and contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence based psychological treatments for people with eating disorders and their families, as part of an MDT approach. Whilst prior experience of working with eating disorders is of course beneficial, we would be keen to hear from anybody with transferable skills and enthusiasm. The Adult Eating Disorder Service is forward thinking in developing care using evidence-based treatments and providing quality, safe and prompt interventions.The service is multidisciplinary and psychologically informed, building its existing pathways around severe enduring eating disorders and physical health care. We positively welcome applications from people who represent diverse communities.The service works core 9-5 hours Monday to Friday. Candidates should be prepared to work flexibly to meet service needs within these hours.
