Full Job Description

The post will have a specific focus on Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation with a view to develop and enhance skills and competencies of the candidate in accordance with the FACT-JACIE accreditation standards. While this position does not attract a National Training Number, it should be regarded as an opportunity to allow the candidate to develop supervised specialist experience in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and cellular therapy at one of the leading tertiary transplant centres. The post would be invaluable for candidates who wish to develop a specialised interest in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Haemato-oncology prior to, or following completion of Specialist Training in Haematology (UK) or equivalent qualifications worldwide.

The transplant team at Kings provides one of the largest services for adult stem cell transplantation in the UK. This includes both autologous and allogeneic transplantation for a range of haematological malignancies with a specialist interest in myeloid disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes. In addition, the department has established a programme for autologous transplantation for autoimmune disorders and in collaboration with the sickle cell team across KHP is leading the development of a sickle cell transplant programme for adult patients, The transplant team at Kings provides one of the largest services for adult stem cell transplantation in the UK. In addition, the department has established a programme for autologous transplantation for autoimmune disorders and in collaboration with the sickle cell team across KHP is leading the development of a sickle cell transplant programme for adult patients., This post is for a whole-time clinical fellowship in Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cell Therapy within the Department of Haematological Medicine at King's College Hospital Foundation Trust. This post will focus on all aspects of transplant and cell therapy with a view to enhancing the skills of Transplant Physicians in accordance with FACT-JACIE accreditation standards. The post is a non-training post and does not attract a training number /NTN in Haematology. It would however be an ideal opportunity to acquire supervised supplementary training in transplantation. Appointees will be encouraged to participate in in teaching and clinical research as per the interests of the post-holder.
