CDIO are delivering a major operating model transformation – one that seeks to pivot their operation to focus more on services, delivering value and consistency in customer experience. As part of CDIO’s Target Operating Model the Digital Platforms role is critical to the delivery of HMRC’s Digital Services with the platforms supporting all customer facing digital products, including internally developed and 3rd party PaaS Solutions.
The purpose of the role is to lead on setting the setting the strategic direction and plans for the Contact Engagement Platform. The role holder Is responsible for overseeing budget for £100m+ and As part of the CDIO’s OFC design, the role holder will head the Software Engineering Practice, which in short means growing our Engineering culture alongside setting standards and ways of working., To serve the strategic ambitions of the Chief Engineering and Platform Officer. This role leads the development and operational control of the platform capabilities that underpin all of the customer facing digital products. These platform capabilities will include internally created developer platforms (high code) and 3rd party PaaS solutions.
The role is responsible for all RPA robotic platforms across HMRC. The role holder owns the strategic plans for the Contact Engagement Platform and be responsible for delivering a set of coherent platform service offerings to the rest of the organisation.
Role holder oversees the Contact Engagement Platform BAU budget and have direct accountability with several supplier contracts (DALAS, DOS5, TS3 & QAT2 frameworks).
Role holder sets the Software Engineering and Quality assurance policies and procedures for HMRC permanent staff and all 3rd party software deliveries., All Criminal Record Checks applications are considered fairly in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice and the Recruitment of ex-offenders Policy.

This role has a minimum assignment duration of 3 years. + Demonstrable experience of managing commercial tenders and contract frameworks
+ Experience of driving devops and continuous delivery practices (and culture) alongside embedding with ITIL and ensuring
