Cellar Roles at Ascot Racecourse

We are currently looking for 6 regular staff members to operate The Cellar Keg Room. The Cellar Keg Room Staff is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the cellar and keg room, ensuring a consistent supply of beer for the bars. This role involves tasks such as keg handling, cleaning, maintenance, and stock management. Responsibilities

• Keg Handling:
+ Receive, inspect, and store incoming kegs. + Rotate kegs according to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles. + Connect and disconnect kegs to and from the beer lines. + Ensure proper labeling and identification of kegs. + Removal and sorting of empty kegs.
• Cleaning and Maintenance:
+ Clean and sanitise cellar walls, kegs, lines, and equipment regularly. + Monitor temperature and humidity levels in the cellar.
• Inventory Management:
+ Maintain accurate records of keg inventory. + Request kegs as needed to ensure adequate supply. + Report any discrepancies or damages to the manager.
• Safety:
+ Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. + Use proper handling techniques for heavy kegs. + Report any safety hazards or concerns to the manager.
• General Duties:
+ Assist with other tasks as assigned by the cellar manager.


• Experience in a food service or hospitality environment preferred.
• Knowledge of keg rooms is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Physical fitness to lift and move heavy kegs.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Additional Skills (Desired)
• Forklift certification.
• Knowledge of beer cellar management systems
