Their milestones, your career!
Would you like to help someone enjoy the happiest day of their life?
If the answer is "Yes" then we would like to hear from you
This is a busy, public-facing role which offers great personal satisfaction supporting our customers to record significant life events. You will be given full training to register and deliver marriage, civil partnership, citizenship and other non-statutory ceremonies. You will be working in Registration Offices and at licenced venues across our beautiful county.
As part of a ceremonies team working throughout the year, and especially at peak periods, you may be required to work a few hours and sometimes full days during the week and primarily at weekends. Your flexibility and availability are therefore key. You will have a confident, tactful and empathetic approach and be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner (both in attitude and appearance). Your ability to communicate clearly is a key requirement of this role as public speaking is essential. Your handwriting must be neat and legible as you'll be working within a legal framework, and you should have excellent attention to detail.
Your working hours will vary depending on the operational needs of the service and your availability. Whilst work is rostered up to six weeks in advance, it can be subject to change at short notice.
Your main work area will be located around one of our bases across the county, however our roles are not limited to these areas, and you will be required to work flexibly across other areas. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel between licenced venues within a specified timeframe therefore you must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
Please note, in order to be considered for the role, candidates must answer all application questions. Attaching a CV is not required as only the application questions will be considered when shortlisting.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an Assessment Day. This is a great opportunity for us to explain more about the role, and for you to demonstrate your suitability. Full details will be sent to shortlisted candidates.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Please note your start date for the role will be around the beginning of February 2025 (subject to all pre-employment checks being received).
