PLEASE NOTE it is a requirement of this Trust that all successful applicants pay for their DBS certificate if a check is required for the post. This will be done through deduction from your monthly pay over a maximum of three months. All new entrants to the NHS will be appointed on the minimum of the pay scale in line with Terms & Conditions., Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust are one of eight centres in England providing Primary HPV Cervical Screening covering the whole of the North East and Yorkshire area. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Cervical Screening Officers/ MDT Coordinators to support the Primary HPV Screening service.
The post holder will assist in maintaining a Cervical Screening service for the NEY Cervical Screening Programme, carrying out both admin and laboratory functions. The role includes acting as first point of contact on the Freephone helpline, performing level 1 patient history check as well as helping in the preparation and distribution lists, reports and slides for MDT meetings.
The post-holder will work as part of the integrated administrative and laboratory based team, working to meet the national targets and standards set by the NHS Cervical Screening programme (NHS CSP).

+ Maintain and promote the professional image of the NEY Cervical Screening Programme, Clinical Pathology Services and Gateshead Health NHS Trust.
+ Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with the Trust Information Management and Technology (IM&T) Information Security Policy.
+ Work under supervision in compliance with the Hub Standard Operating Procedures and departmental Health and Safety Policies.
+ Follow good practice in line with professional guidelines and UKAS standards.
+ Work within the Terms and Conditions of Employment.
+ Report incidents, accidents and defects according to Trust and Divisional guidelines.
+ Contribute to the provision of materials, advice and support for the Clinical Users of the service
+ Support administration and laboratory functions to help co-ordinate NEY Cervical Screening activities within the department.
+ Support the NEY Cervical Screening staff to ensure effective patient flow and clinical management.
+ Participate in a range of daily activities of the department on a rostered basis as directed by supervisors.
+ Provide an effective and efficient service to meet the needs of department, its customers and staff.
