Full Job Description

The post will be of interest to any anaesthetist who has finished ST3 or equivalent and gained FRCA part 1 or equivalent.
The successful candidate will be working alongside our existing trainee anaesthetists with the same rotational opportunities to gain the necessary experience to support a CESR application. The expectation is that the successful will be on the on call for theatres or obstetric rota at an appropriate level for their experience. If placed on the ICM rota will be on the ICM rota at a level appropriate to their previous experience.
2 posts will be 'based' in Bristol and 1 'based' in Swindon, however all posts will rotate to Bristol to ensure curriculum requirements are met and all may spend time in our local DGHs, To improve clinical skills in Anaesthesia commencing at ST4 level. To engage in research, teaching or Quality Improvement Activities, under the guidance of a consultant from the department, with a view gaining the required competencies to progress to CESR. Fellows will undergo annual appraisal to ensure progress is as expected. Progression is subject to successfully achieving the expected development goals as with our specialist trainees., To improve clinical skills in Anaesthesia commencing at ST4 level. Courses/Training/Journal/Clubs/Lunchtime meetings:
The successful candidate will be invited to attend the full range of teaching available to our Stage 2 and 3 trainees. This includes all departmental peer group teaching sessions, exam focused teaching and OSCE/ SAQ training.
