Full Job Description
The post holder will gain a wide range of experience in all aspects of work within the Acute Medicine Department. They will be expected to work as a middle grade doctor covering all clinical areas of the Department. There will be a Consultant available for advice/supervision at all times. During this time the post holder will work primarily in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and in the SDEC (AEC / MRU / AMRA) as well as providing support as needed on the Short Stay Unit. A tailored rotation will also include work on both sites of the Trust offering experience in a District General Hospital Environment at County Hospital and in addition to the tertiary centre environment offered by the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Participation in out of hours / on call work is expected on a pro-rota basis and will be re numerated according to the terms and conditions set out in this contract.
There will be a Consultant available for advice/supervision at all times.
Supporting professional activities: There is time specifically set aside for academic work education, audit and management development - this will form 1 session per week.
Career support: the post holder will be allocated a Mentor/Clinical supervisor from amongst the Consultant body and there is a robust system of appraisal., For the full list of duties associated with this role, please refer to the attached job description.
