Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help develop and deliver high-quality character art for AAA games, both for Flix's own exclusive projects and our high profile co-development partners. As a vital component of the Art team, you will work in conjunction with animators, designers, and developers utilising your artistic abilities and creativity to bring the vision of the game to life.,

  • Creating character art assets under the guidance of the Art Leads and other artists on the team.

  • Working closely with other members of the character art team to ensure consistently high quality.

  • Following character design concepts accurately, and raising any issues or necessary changes from those concepts with the Art Leads.

  • Fulfilling the requirements of the Animation teams, and ensuring that the quality of the character art is consistently high throughout the movements and uses required.

  • Understanding and adhering to all technical requirements as defined by Tech Art, Animation, and Code teams, to help maintain standards and performance.

  • Following and assisting in the maintenance of best practices in folder structure, naming conventions and organisation of art assets and associated files.

  • Creating any relevant documentation and technical guides., Based just outside Birmingham, Flix offers a friendly, nurturing work environment with the opportunity to build games as part of an extremely talented, ambitious studio.     Ability to create high quality game characters.

  • Ability to work within an established art style, and proven ability to work across anatomical, cloth and hard-surface modelling.

  • Knowledge of industry-standard 3D packages such as Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Zbrush etc.

  • Familiarity and understanding of the game art pipeline - high-poly sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, texture creation and baking, export and import into game.

  • Experience of working in a game engine - Unreal 5 is desirable.

  • Ability to give clear and reliable estimates for each task.

  • Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Willing to continue to learn and improve own skills, and has a desire to help other team members to do the same.
