Full Job Description

Do you want to work for a class leading charity & make a difference to members of the Police Family in their time of need? The PTC is a national Police Charity supporting those with physical and psychological injuries, conditions and illnesses; with the aim of assisting their return to better health and wellbeing. The PTC also manages The Police Children's Charity which supports the Police Family and would also be part of the Charity Engagement Officer (EO) remit.

We are looking for a EO to join our dynamic and successful Charity Engagement Team. It is a challenging and exciting role which is vital in contributing to the Charities' impact and reach.

With a proven track record of donor stewardship and retention techniques; you will work in a small team to successfully deliver the Charities' Engagement Strategy. You will be encouraged to bring new ideas of engagement and promotion to the team, with an agile approach to opportunities and a keen eye on the fundraising market.

Strong communication is essential to ensure that internal and external stakeholders understand the breadth and importance of the Charities' work. A key element of the EO role is to raise the profile of the Charities at presentations and exhibitions and therefore previous experience of presenting & public speaking is desirable. Experience of copy writing and print design with a creative flair is important.

You will bring experience as well as new ideas to help maximise fundraising opportunities, preparing successful campaigns and events for the PTC & The Police Children's Charity.

The role is full time, 35 hours per week and a fixed term 12 month contract. The role is primarily based at St Andrews, Harrogate, however travel is an essential part of this role. A valid driving license is required, however use of a charity vehicle will be provided. Candidates must have a flexible approach and be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings as the role requires.

In return we offer a pension scheme and a superb working environment. Other benefits include the use of fitness facilities, free parking, 28 days holiday + Bank holidays (including 2 weeks off at Christmas).
