Full Job Description

  • You will work in the Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs (CRBA) team. Commissioning & Acquisition is at the heart of the BBC. We work with external independent production companies and BBC Studios to agree funding and contracts to deliver programming across all scripted and unscripted content. More information on the team can be found in the placement section at the end of the job description. What will you be studying? You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job, covering areas such as operational strategy, project management and business finance. This involves studying for your BSc (Hons) degree in Management Practice and Maths and English if not previously achieved., This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 42 months, Apprentices starting at BBC from September 2025 will be placed on a 'Fixed Term' contract. This means your contract is for the duration of your apprenticeship only.   • Are an enthusiastic self-starter, flexible and adaptable to out-of-hours working, By the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
  • Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation., Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject, Business and/or Management at level 5 or higher.
  • Not be currently studying toward a qualification in apprenticeship subject, Business and/or Management at level 5 or higher.
  • To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.

We work with programme commissioners, finance, editorial policy, legal, delivery, audiences and other CRBA teams across television and audio to deliver programming for radio, linear television, BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer. We work with external independent production companies and BBC Studios to agree funding and contracts to deliver programming across all scripted content (drama, comedy and children's) and all unscripted content (documentaries, arts, music, current affairs, specialist factual, factual entertainment, entertainment and daytime programming) - for network and for the nations. All areas are incredibly busy.

  • A starting salary of £21,840 (+ £5,318 London Living Allowance)
