Full Job Description

Moat Park Retirement Village based in Great Easton, Essex is currently seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to work 30 hours a week. Serving Lunch to our residents.

Working Pattern: Tues-Friday one week then the alternate week Tues, Weds, Thurs and Sunday (serving carvery lunch every other week).

As a Chef at Moat Park Village you will be responsible for:

Menu Planning: Designing and creating diverse and nutritious menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Cooking: Executing culinary dishes with precision and creativity, ensuring high-quality meals are served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Catering to Dietary Restrictions: Accommodating special dietary requirements and restrictions, including low-sodium, gluten-free, and other individual needs.

Kitchen Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Collaboration: Working closely with the dining services team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for residents.

Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

Special Events: Planning and executing special dining events and activities for residents.

Proven experience as a Cook/Chef in a similar setting (retirement community, assisted living, or similar environment preferred).

· Culinary degree or relevant certification.

· Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

· Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.

· Creativity and passion for delivering high-quality, creative, appealing meals.
