Chef

The ideal Chef will have experience in assisting developing innovative menus, budgetary and stock control, maintaining our strict hygiene regulations and complying fully with Standard Operating Procedures. Experience of managing and leading a small kitchen team with the ability to plan, organise and execute work schedules., As a Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting The Vinery and High Force Hotel. Working within the culinary operations of The Vinery and outdoor events across the Estate. Your responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, assisting in menu planning and development and ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality hot and cold dishes. The Chef role contributes to the overall success of the café/hotel by maintaining culinary standards and fostering a positive working environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.


• Monitor and maintain with the kitchen team, the cleanliness, organisations and always adhering to hygiene and safety practices and compliance.


• Ensure that menu items are executed consistently and meet highest standard as set out on our menus.


• Maintain quality control for all food items and address any issues related to food and quality promptly.


• Produce production lists for team according to business needs and requirements, making sure enough production for each service.


• To deliver outstanding customer service, which provides for an unforgettable visitor experience, creating loyal, return visitors to Raby Estates.


• Adhere strictly to food safety management procedures.


• Liaising with food & beverage and retail staff, as well as other managers and employees.


• Collaborate with the Estate Chef in developing and updating the costed menus, actively engage in learning opportunities to improve the food offers across all departments.


• Assist in managing and ordering stock, including all deliveries.


• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene compliance procedures.


• Contribute to the development and implementation of cost-control measures.


• Assist in driving processes of excellence for the department.


• Assist in conducting quality checks on ingredients and finishing products to ensure consistence and excellence.
  
  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef to join our team. Working at Raby Castle, Park & Gardens and High Force Hotel. Are you an experienced talented Chef looking for a job that offers the opportunity to be creative and inspirational as well as an anility to be part for the team and lead the team., Previous experience as a senior Chef in a commercial kitchen, demonstrating professional kitchen operations. (At least 3 years' experience).


• Proven track record of experience required.


• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate as a minimum.


• Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, knowledge and practices of COSHH.


• Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


• Flexible and willingness to adapt to different tasks and schedules, responsive to changing needs in the kitchen environment.


• A kind and caring attitude towards your colleagues and customers.


• Ability to work within a team or on own initiative as required.


• Enthusiasm and capacity for hard work.


• Attention to details.


• Carry out and delegate general cleaning duties in all relevant catering areas, and in accordance with cleaning schedule.


• Deputise as Senior Chef to establish customer requirements.


• Very good understanding and knowledge of Food Standards Agency Legislations and best practice guidance and to record statutory food safety records evidencing required food hygiene control measures.
