The Role:

Swanwick Lodge is a specialist, secure residential home looking after up to ten children with complex attachment, mental health and behavioural needs. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2024 it provides a safe, secure and therapeutic environment for some of our most vulnerable young people.

This is an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling role where you can support children recover from difficult life experiences. We are looking for a chef who is not only skilled in the kitchen but also passionate about making a difference in children's lives.

They should offer the provision of high-quality food and drink which meets the physical, emotional, health and social needs of the children in the home. The role is crucial in providing a stable and supportive environment for vulnerable children ensuring they receive nutritious meals that contribute to their overall well-being.

About You:

We are looking for people who are passionate about helping children. Emotionally intelligent and resilient, you will also need to be physically able to undertake the role and the training. Experience of working with children, young people or adults within a residential, secure or similar setting is an advantage but not essential.

You will be provided with all the training you need as well as our regular ongoing training and support to develop both your personal and professional skills.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working at Sous Chef level. They should possess excellent organisational and time-management skills, along with the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing needs. A friendly, patient and approachable demeanour, coupled with a passion for great food.
