King's is looking to appoint a Chef de Partie to work within a team of 36 staff in the catering department. Working in a modern well-equipped environment this position assists the delivery of lunches to over 1400 staff and pupils on a daily basis during term-time. Catering is also provided for regular school functions throughout the term. As part of the catering team the Chef de Partie will be involved in kitchen prep.
Person Specification
- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef running the lunch service
- Assisting with the cleaning down of the kitchen after lunch service
- Previous professional catering experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Level 2 Food
- Hygiene is desirable, but full training can be provided
- The ability to work within a team and maintain
- High standards in a fast-paced, pressurised kitchen environment
- A good knowledge of allergies and intolerances
- Good communication skills with an approachable manner - contact with pupils and staff is on a daily basis and maintaining open communication is essential.
- Normal hours: 07.30 to 16.00 Monday to Friday however there is some flexibility in these times
- Pro-rata holiday - based on 25 days' holiday per annum plus, English statutory public holidays as the full-time entitlement
- Uniform is provided
