The café opens for 9.30 with a breakfast offer and moves onto a lunch offer. We produce our dishes from fresh, including soups, one pots, cakes and bakes. Your responsibility would be to produce mainly the savoury dishes and run the pass, placing orders and supporting/covering for the head chef. Please read our package, below, to see what benefits we offer you., Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll join a team of 5 chefs and be part of a wider team of 50 staff. There is a Food and Beverage Manager, with an Assistant F&B Manager, Team Leaders and Team members. You'll be working in Kedleston hall's original kitchens, and therefore we do not have a counter system. The restaurant seats around 100 covers with a further 100 covers outdoors, directly in front of the hall. What you'll be doing You'll be part on an established, experienced team. Your main focus is the kitchen, a busy and creative hub. You'll be working within the framework of our 'National Trust Cookbook' to prepare delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors. You'll help to build a great place to work, which includes showing empathy and giving support to team members when needed. The aim is to foster a positive spirit where everyone is focussed on giving the best possible service to visitors. By maintaining high standards of food hygiene and COSHH procedures, you'll minimise risks to visitors, staff and contractors. We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.     Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1950 hours per yar. Your shift pattern would be 5 out of 7 rota and would include working weekends and bank holidays shared equally with the chefs team.
