Chemist

You will manage be providing production support, including routine chemical testing of process solutions, compliance of effluent waters to discharge consents, and validating the conformity of the chemicals and materials Key activities:

• Analysis of Effluent water samples, which includes determination of metal content by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Anion determination by Ion Chromatography and Suspended solids analysis.
• Analytical Chemistry, which includes potentiometric titration, pH and conductivity testing and UV / Vis Spectrophotometry.
• Technical report writing following testing to confirm conformity of the material / sample tested.
• Drafting of Standard Operating Procedures and Technical instructions.
• Data-capture, entry and record-keeping, for example upkeep of booking in logs, sample and specimen archiving, recording and disposal.
• Health and safety tasks – including checks for Legionella, LEV Air flow checks and general cleaning of the Laboratory.
• Maintaining work areas to 5S standards.
  
  Degree in Chemistry or a related subject
• Experience working in a laboratory environment preferably Chemistry related.
• Knowledge and experience of Analytical chemistry techniques
