At Eni, we are looking for a Chief Accountant within EniProgetti SpA UK Branch in Basingstoke, UK. You will be responsible for keeping accurate financial records for the branch and the preparation, analysis, and submission of the financial reporting package to EniProgetti Head Office in Italy. You will be the finance focal point with external auditors, contract holders, tax advisors and will lead the financial accounting team. About EniProgetti UK Branch EniProgetti is wholly owned by Eni, the global energy company. EniProgetti performs a key role developing projects and providing expert engineering support to Eni businesses worldwide. The company has an integrated operation office in the UK in Basingstoke. EniProgetti is currently helping to lead Eni in the energy transition from traditional business areas with decarbonised solutions such as CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) to innovative project such as renewables, hydrogen, etc. The office is a landmark feature on Basing View in central Basingstoke, with ample free parking and only a five-minute walk from the mainline railway station. EniProgetti UK operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this. As a member of the accounting department at Eni Progetti you will be responsible for :

  • Co-ordinating the monthly, quarterly, and year-end process, with reference to IFRS, ensuring consistency with Eni Group policies and assisting the Head Office team with the statutory accounts, and reporting in a timely manner ensuring the correct application of Eni accounting principles, guidelines, and policies.
  • Co-ordinating and following up the audit process, resolving any queries from the external auditors in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the branch finance procedures are compliant with legal and fiscal requirements and with Eni rules and to guarantee their correct application within the branch and take an active role.
  • Co-ordinating accounting and reporting processes such as annual accounts and related audit process.
  • Co-ordinating the cost allocation to the projects and develop and adapt the cost allocation model as business needs change.
  • Co-ordinating the recording of the finance aspect of the payroll and other personnel costs and the related reconciliation to the control accounts.
  • Co-ordinating the payables and receivables functions, periodical reconciliations of vendors and customers are carried out on a timely manner and acted upon.
  • Liaising with the tax consultants for Corporation Tax matters, VAT and be the focal point within the finance function for business rates, PAYE and NIC.
  • Co-ordinating the preparation of the reporting package for EniProgetti Head Office
  • Co-ordinating reporting for National Statistics Performing ad hoc duties as required.


  • 3 years post qualification experience (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Relevant university degree (desirable). Experience with ERP systems (SAP) desirable.
