In addition to working independently in Echo, experience of Pacing and/or cath lab will be an advantage and we will encourage and support you to gain the appropriate accreditation., We have a busy echo service, For the right candidate there will be the opportunity to participate in Physiologist Led Valve Clinics and ACHD clinics. We are hoping to expand our echo service by recruiting an imaging consultant who can help us to develop stress echo.
We have 3 Device Consultants and our pacing service is equally busy with Brady and Complex implants and device follow up.
In our cath lab we perform routine angio and PCI with IVUS and FFR, including a small number of pPCI .
The successful postholder must have a BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent and be on the RCCP register, hold a current ILS in addition to BSE accreditation.
Specialise in echocardiography providing full technical analysis and interpretation of results for medical staff, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Echo specialists will perform the full range of echo clinics including Physiologist Led Valve Clinics, bubble and contrast studies, ACHD clinics and assisting with TOE.
Device specialists will manage and run complex device and pacemaker clinics, identifying patients who require cardiologist review. Adapt programmes, in accordance with the guidelines of the British Pacing and Electrophysiology Group, and without medical supervision, making complex judgements to ensure that any patient who is unwell is assessed, diagnosed and referred as required.
Undertake the Physiologists role in the cath lab for diagnostic angiography and PCI.
Undertake all basic investigations to diagnose heart disease, and produce factual reports as required.
Make judgements on the severity of results, ensuring medical staff are informed immediately of any life threatening or urgent investigation results.
Undertake the range of highly complex investigations and produce full technical analysis and interpretation of results.
Ensure that all the correct procedures for dealing with urgent and non-urgent results are adhered to, supporting the junior staff at all times.
Support our specialist Cardiac Nursing Team in the delivery of their services across coronary heart disease, heart failure and arrhythmia.
Participate and/or take the lead as a member of the resuscitation team if required when an emergency occurs in the department.

Salary: ££43,742 - £50,056 per annum/pro rata
Due to the opening of a CDC at Rochester Healthy Living Centre and the planned opening of a CDC at Sheppey Community Hospital we are looking for two new band 7 Cardiac Physiologists to join our team. To be eligible for the band 7 role you will need BSE accreditation. We are not able to accommodate any additional Echo trainees at the current time so applications will be rejected from anyone who does not have current BSE accreditation. We are happy to receive applications from Band 6s with new BSE accreditation looking for promotion to Band 7.
You will be based with the main Cardiorespiratory team at Medway Maritime Hospital but will need to rotate through the Community Diagnostic Centres.
There will be the opportunity for the successful candidate to learn Pacing and rotate through the Cardiac Catheter Suite. We are a friendly team and happy to support development in these areas.
There will be a future requirement for 7 day working in the Community Diagnostic Centres.
