Full Job Description

The Respiratory Physiology service has an opportunity to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic individual to the role of Chief Clinical Physiologist (Band 7) for a 15-month fixed term post.
The post is primarily based at the Sleep Centre in Charing Cross Hospital, which undertakes a wide range of diagnostic tests and treatments including CPAP provision and support, respiratory polygraphy sleep studies, PSG/MSLT and NIV set-up and monitoring.
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, including the Head of Respiratory Physiology, Consultant Clinical Scientist, Consultant Respiratory Physician, physiologists, nursing staff and administrators. As part of the role you will share the operational management of the Sleep Centre, including line management responsibility for junior physiologists in these areas. You will also be expected to play an active role in the education and training of student physiologists, nursing and junior medical staff., + To assist with the growing demand for specialist sleep services such as polysomnography and non-invasive ventilation.
+ To play a key role in supporting the Principal Clinical Scientist in the day to day running of the lab including supervision of students and junior staff.
+ To provide comprehensive diagnostic testing for a range respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders as well as the provision and follow-up of patients on CPAP and NIV.
+ Interact closely with medical, scientific and other nursing staff to provide a high quality Sleep Service dedicated to patient care.
+ Manage own workload and oversee the day to day allocation of tasks to junior staff.
+ Demonstrate an awareness of the economical use of resources and contribute to the overall control of the ward or departmental budget.
