World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Chief Executive Location: UK/Hybrid days per week in London office Remuneration: circa £115k Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Reporting to: Chair of the World Board Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for empowering girls and young women? The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is looking for an innovative and visionary Chief Executive to lead, support and grow our global Movement. Our vision is for an equal world where all girls can thrive. As the largest global Movement for girls and young women, WAGGGS connects over million members across countries. We support Member Organisations in delivering high-quality Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting experiences, promoting inclusivity, and fostering leadership development. As Chief Executive, you will provide strategic leadership and vision, working closely with the World Board to implement WAGGGS strategy, diversify and grow income and reach, and support our vibrant Member
Organisations. You will be responsible for leading a geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, overseeing resource allocation, and securing funding to ensure the sustainability and impact of the organisation. Candidates will bring a track record in Board-level senior leadership in an international context, with a strong understanding of membership and/or volunteer-led contexts. You should have experience in governance, financial management, and strategic planning, with the ability to lead through influence rather than positional power. Cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams are essential. A passion for youth participation, gender equality, and advancing diversity and inclusion is key, along with the ability to work flexibly and to travel internationally, where required.
