Full Job Description

The CIO will provide leadership to our IT department, comprising 9 team members. In this key role, you will develop, promote and implement an IT strategy to include solutions within Tindall Riley & Co Limited (TRC), and the mutual Associations it manages. The role will have direct exposure to senior management and be responsible for the delivery of IT requirements, undertaking analysis and delivering complex projects.
Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an IT strategy based on TRC's and its businesses' requirements and expectations

  • Lead, develop and evolve the business technology roadmap; partner with the business and vendors to ensure technology solutions support the needs of the business

  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure technology remains aligned with all the organisation's needs

  • Advise TRC's leadership on existing and emerging technologies, industry solutions, best practice, and digital trends; recommend and implement solutions that best enable the business

  • Translate technology to make it easier for key stakeholders to understand and support the same objectives

  • Understand the project lifecycle to plan, manage, budget and successfully execute new and existing technology services throughout the business

  • Effectively evaluate, identify and manage risk, and implement change to the reduce impact and exposure; have an awareness of current and emerging information security threats and manage controls to mitigate risks

  • Negotiate, evaluate, and structure service level agreements internally and with vendors; ensure high standards are set and achieved

  • Work with the Head of Technology to manage the systems/technology budget, inclusive of staffing, BAU operations, professional services, licenses, subscriptions, and capital projects

  • Build and retain an outstanding technology team that fully supports the business requirements through talent acquisition, mentoring, training, and career development opportunities

    Knowledge/Experience

  • 3 years executive-level experience at the CIO level is strongly desirable.

  • Strong experience in information technology and resource management is essential. Exposure to working within small organisation within Insurance or Financial services industry is desirable.

  • Significant experience managing and/or directing IT projects and services. Knowledge and understanding of change management.

  • Knowledge of the latest business technologies as well as system design and implementation.


  • Education/Qualification
  • Degree in Information Technology or business-related degree.
