Full Job Description

This will be one of our biggest and most high-profile programmes of digital transformation, so we are looking for someone with energy, passion and the resilience to manage the complexities and risks involved in this critical programme of work.
You will join our Digital Leadership team and Corporate Nursing Team as the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO). The post holder will provide crucial leadership that integrates clinical expertise with technological innovation to enhance patient care and operational efficiency in the clinical environment.
In this role you will be pivotal in the liaison between our digital experts by bringing all key stakeholders together to support the development of a digitally enabled nursing, midwifery and Allied Health Professional workforce, encompassing the varying needs of digital transformation, with a specific focus on enabling improved clinical workforce digital literacy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced candidate, who is looking to progress their career as part of a supportive and highly driven team, The post holder will support the Trust to acquire, implement and sustain the required cost- effective digital systems to provide excellent clinical care to its service users, in conjunction with its partners throughout the wider health and social care community.
The post holder will provide clinical guidance and advice on the configuration, implementation, and adoption of the Trust's digital solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality health and care services.
The post-holder will ensure the implementation of the digital strategy supports the clinical aims of the organisation and improves outcomes for our patients, staff and NHS
They will contribute to the development of new models of care and advise on the role that digital technology can play in the Trust's clinical service review and transformation plan.
The post holder will provide clinical advice and guidance, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate and successful use of digital solutions and systems within GEH, facilitating safe and effective care.
The post holder will promote innovation and champion the development of a clinically appropriate digital culture, as an enabler of transformation and quality improvement across the organisation.
The post holder will be one of the key GEH representatives in the internal, local, regional and national digital collaborations.
Responsible for strategic and operational leadership in the development, deployment, re- engineering, optimisation and integration of clinical information systems to support patient care.
Provide clinical leadership to advance nursing's utilisation of clinical information systems consistent with the goals and objectives of GEH nursing initiatives.
Translate clinical needs into the Digital Strategy and communicate the aims of the strategy to peers through a variety of methods.
Lead on the assessment of requirements and implementation of strategies to meet current needs, future direction for informatics within the Trust and across transitions through the continuum of care.
Lead the Transformational Change agenda with nursing and clinicians, driving key change initiatives and projects to build productive, sustainable, fit for purpose digital clinical environments.
Advise key stakeholders on implications of national and local digital policy/strategy development from a clinical perspective.
Act on their own initiative to deal with contentious and sensitive issues.

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week (will be required to work unsociable hours as and when required)

Salary: £58,972-£68,525 per annum
Please note if you commence in post prior to October 2024, you will be paid in line with 2023/2024 agenda for change pay scales.
