We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful Chief Pharmacy Technician who enjoys working in a busy multidisciplinary environment, is a great team player and demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous applicants need not apply., The post holder will join a dynamic Pharmacy Production team with the opportunity to manage and develop the service. Main duties of the role include (please see job description for complete list):
- To assist the Lead Cancer Services Pharmacist in the management and development of production services both sterile and nonsterile.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all technical staff in the Production Unit and ensure services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner.
- To be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures comply with current legislation and guidelines.
- Management of the technical aspects of aseptic dispensing to ensure that all products are made to the highest quality enforced by GMP and QA systems and to ensure the Production Unit is maintained in good working order and that all directives are met. - To develop, maintain and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) in collaboration with the Accountable Pharmacist.
- To write, develop, maintain and assure implementation of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain the controlled documentation system in cooperation with the Accountable Pharmacist.
- To ensure that all activities, documentation, and procedures within the unit meet current legislation such as GMP, GCP, Health and Safety and COSHH.
- To assist in all aspects of internal and external audit of the aseptic service, including audits of current practice, and development of service improvement strategies.
- To be responsible for the local delivery of the pharmacy education and training strategy for production staff.
