Abrams Healthcare LLP is delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for an experienced Child Protection Conference Chair to join our team, working on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This position plays a pivotal role in safeguarding children and ensuring the highest standards of intervention and planning in child protection cases.

As a highly skilled professional, you will act as an Independent Chair for Child Protection Conferences, providing expert guidance in the formulation and review of individual plans for children at risk of significant harm. You will champion social work values, collaborate across agencies, and challenge practice standards where needed to achieve the best outcomes for children and families., Chairing Conferences: Lead multi-agency child protection conferences, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and maintaining an independent, authoritative perspective.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the formulation and review of effective child protection plans while advising and challenging multi-agency partners to uphold best practices.
Monitoring and Accountability: Maintain rigorous oversight of allocated cases, monitor progress, and escalate concerns to senior management using conflict resolution procedures when necessary.
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality-of-practice activities, identifying gaps in service delivery, and implementing strategies to enhance outcomes.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Build and sustain effective relationships with statutory partners (e.g., Health, Police, Education) and stakeholders to deliver joint planning and service improvement.
Training and Development: Design and deliver training to Children's Services staff and external partners on child protection issues, strategies, and procedures.
Policy Contribution: Assist in developing policies, strategies, and the annual Business Plan to adapt to new statutory guidance and emerging best practices.
Crisis Management: Respond promptly to emergencies, coordinating services to ensure robust support for children and families.

Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DiPSW, CSS).
Registration with Social Work England.
Substantial post-qualifying experience in front-line child and family teams, including:
Conducting complex assessments.
Designing and monitoring care/protection plans.
Chairing complex meetings (e.g., strategy meetings).
Experience working collaboratively with internal and external partners across agencies.
Strong knowledge of English childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and intervention models.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Desirable Criteria:

Management qualification.

Photographic ID must be presented when reporting for duty.
The role involves travel to multiple locations in East Riding of Yorkshire.
This is an on-site role; hybrid or remote working is not available.
