Full Job Description
- Chair Initial Child Protection Conferences, and Child Protection Reviews using the Restorative Conferencing and Family Partnership Model.
- Will be proactive in your responsibilities towards ensuring best outcomes for children and young people subject to child protection.
- Offer expert advice, support, consultation, and mediation on practice issues to Children's Services staff on individual cases
- Demonstrate substantial experience in work with children and families, including Child Protection, Child in Need, Care Proceeding.
- Have good knowledge of specific child protection matters such as, Forced Marriage, Fabricated Illness, Female Genital Mutilation, Sexually Harmful Behaviour Planning meetings and Trafficking Why work for Salford Children Services?
- Listen to what children and young people want and work hard to make sure that the services they provide help keep them safe and to achieve their wishes (Ofsted)
- The workforce is stable and children and young people in Salford have sustained a meaningful relationships with consistent workers.
- Staff are supported through a well-targeted and effectively delivered training programme.

There will be opportunities to deliver training programmes and contribute to the continuing practice development of social workers. Prospective candidates will be social work qualified and will demonstrate substantial experience in work with children and families, including cared for children, care proceedings and child protection, as a practitioner and in some kind of supervisory capacity.
The post holder will have at least 3 years post qualifying experience, be able display and promote restorative practice whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for protecting children and young people across the city.
