Full Job Description

Our Specialist weight management service is looking for a Registered Counsellor to deliver excellent care to Children and Young people in Nottinghamshire, this role will be based out of Mansfield but the postholder must be willing to travel, have a valid license and access to a vehicle. The service aims to empower individuals and communities towards a healthier future by promoting health awareness. The Child Therapist integrates psychological theory with therapeutic techniques to help people overcome and deal with problematic life events and mental health issues. They engage people and their communities to help identify barriers whilst empowering them to overcome these.

  • The role is designed to support children and young people in various settings, face to-face, community-based, digital and via telephone.
  • The role involves the assessment of clients referred and the provision of child therapy sessions.
  • The role includes ensuring the therapeutic support provides a clear, evidence-based, effective and consistent service for all clients.
  • The role will continuously develop methods and resources that result in improved/effective wellbeing and behaviours for all ages., This post will work under the line management of the Head of Service with clinical supervision from the Divisional therapist lead. The role provides therapeutic interventions to children and young people accessing specialist weight management programmes., You will join a new team comprising a Head of Service, nutritionists, therapists, exercise specialists and administrators. The post holder will work within the wider MDT of GPs, psychologists, dietitians, nutritionist, exercise specialists and healthy lifestyle advisors to provide administration support and oversee the single point of access.

    £26,500 to £28,500 a year Pro rata for part time
