Full Job Description

Main duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Develop and ensure quality delivery of all childcare qualifications on all learning programmes that enable young people to achieve and progress into a positive destination including an Apprenticeship, Further Education or sustainable employment.

  • Undertake a robust assessment to identify young people's needs, appropriate levels and record progress of achieved towards their goals.


  • Organising and conducting work placements for young people.

  • Support the organisation and delivery of monthly Enrichment trips, including trips.

  • To ensure the highest possible standard of service delivery through the maintenance and monitoring of individualised learning programmes. This will include the planning and conducting of 1-2-1 progress reviews

  • To meet the highest possible standard of service delivery required following OFSTED guidelines through the development, maintenance and monitoring of tailored training programmes.


  • Offer relevant and appropriate childcare learning to young people with a range of learning needs, in order to increase their confidence and employability.

  • Offer appropriate support and learning in childcare to all learners to enable them to succeed in a vocational setting, achieve their learning aim and progress positively in their chosen career.

  • Have regular communication with partner schools regarding the progress of the young people we are supporting.

  • Passionate interest in the Early Years sector

  • Have a high level of self-confidence and ability to manage a classroom in a demanding teaching environment.

  • Understand NEET learners and challenges they face in post 16 education.

  • Understand the demographic of alternative provision and the key role you will play in Young people's education that are on Alternative Education.

  • Have a teaching qualification of level 3 or higher.

  • Have an Early years qualification at a minimum L3

  • Have an IQA qualification (desirable)

    Barnardo's Employment, Training and Skills Yorkshire is a Work Based Learning Provider based in Bradford.
