Full Job Description

  • Case preparation on a wide range of children cases: public law care proceedings, private law children disputes, domestic abuse injunctions, child abduction matters, force marriage, FGM, child protection, adoption and kinship care;

  • Providing dedicated support to two or three solicitors to ensure a client's case is progressed effectively;

  • Preparing draft documents including briefs to counsel, letters of instruction to experts, correspondence, witness statements.

  • Analysing documents;

  • Bundle preparation;

  • Attending court to assist clients and liaising with client on the telephone and in person;

  • As you progress in your career, with the appropriate support, there are opportunities for increased responsibility working on cases and increased direct client contact.

Many of our solicitors are accredited to the Law Society's Children Law Panel meaning they act for children in public law care proceedings.     The successful candidate may ultimately apply for a training contract with the firm, as we exclusively consider current employees. Many of our Paralegals have gone on to secure training contracts and successfully qualified as Solicitors in the department.

    Working Hours

    Full time - 35 hours per week: 9:30am-5:30pm Monday - Friday (alternative working arrangements including part-time hours will be considered).
