Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our service as part of a newly developed school team to provide S< therapy provision as identified in a C&YP's EHCP.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about working with children and their families, and who wants to be part of a supportive and inclusive team.

We balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.

We prioritise support and clinical supervision. You will have an induction period with shadowing and joint sessions, as well as regular supervision and a Band 5 peer support group., The Children's Speech and Language Therapy team provides a Speech and Language Therapy Service consistent with professional standards to children with communication difficulties and eating and drinking needs. This includes children with learning disabilities and/or complex needs in community clinics, pre-school settings and mainstream/special schools.

We have a designated wellbeing team within Children's SLT who help us to keep the wellbeing of all our team high on the agenda.

The Speech and Language Therapy Team offers a wide range of clinical assessments, providing interventions which are determined by specialist care pathways and offering direct support to children, young people, their families, education, health and social care colleagues. We are a countywide SLT service and the post holder will be required to work flexibly across the county as needed to meet service demands.

The Wellbeing Team regularly organise talks and events which are well received by all our department.

Colleagues in our team were previously shortlisted for two categories at our NHFT Quality Awards.

A car driver is essential. We will require sight of your full driving licence at interview.

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
