Full Job Description

At Paragon Social Care we support some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society by providing packages of support in times of crisis. We offer zero hour contracts with exceptional remuneration opportunities as staff are able to work in excess of 60 hours per week should they wish. We have a large number of support packages on at any one time so we are looking for high quality support workers who have a genuine interest in making a positive difference to the lives of the children and young people we support. This role is suited to support workers who are either full time agency or are extremely flexible in their working life. It is not suited to those with a full time job elsewhere as our children and young people require consistency of staff. The duties of our support workers would include:

  • Providing the day-to-day trauma informed support to meet their day to day needs, promoting their safety and well-being and protecting them from harm - including the cooking of meals, supporting the child / young person to keep their bedroom clean and tidy and ensuring that the home in which the young person lives is clean.
  • Promoting healthy lifestyle choices through structure and routine that would be expected within a family home.
  • Supporting the child's engagement with education.
  • Promoting good relationships with staff, professionals and the wider community.
  • Facilitating engagement with broader support services and health appointments.
  • Transporting our children and young people as and when necessary in your own vehicle.
  • Ensuring that the young person's views about their care, support, and accommodation are listened to and acted upon where appropriate. Give them a voice!
  • Supporting move-on plans and assisting with the young person's smooth transition.
  • Maintaining a daily logbook / incident book and sharing this with colleagues during staff handover points, shared through an agreed secure method.

This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of the vulnerable children and young people we support!
  • Free extensive training including 16 online modules as well as a 3 day face to face training package covering Physical Intervention, Safeguarding Children, Trauma Informed and Introduction to Polyvagal Theory!
  • Exceptional remuneration opportunity - earn in excess of £50k per annum!
  • Free DBS!
  • Bonus payments on successful support packages!
  • Referral Bonuses! Earn money by simply referring your excellent friends or colleagues.
  • In order to apply you must:
  • Have a driving licence and use of a vehicle.
  • Be prepared to obtain vehicle business insurance and transport young people in your vehicle.
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Have an engaging, warm, friendly and charismatic personality.
